Headset Operation lets you use a headset to make and receive telephone calls. Answer calls by pressing the flashing line key.
NOTE: Headset operation is not supported on the 6905 and 6970 IP Phone.
Headset Operation is only available on some phones; see Feature Availability below for more information.
When you are using Headset Operation, the SPEAKER key and MIC ON/OFF key have no effect.
When you hang up, you will not hear dial tone (the set is idle).
For the 5x40 series of IP phones, the headset receiver is always on even when the handset is in use.
Muting a call from a headset lights the Mute key LED except on 69xx phones used in combination with certain Bluetooth headsets. Contact Mitel Technical Support or your telephone equipment dealer for a list of compatible headsets.

If many DECT devices are connected to your 69xx IP Phones, then:
Set "Integrated DECT Wideband Audio" to "No".
Set "Integrated DECT High Power" to "No".

To enable Headset Operation:
Press the Headset
key or the key programmed as Headset.
OR
Dial the Multiline Set Headset On feature access code.
To answer a call:
Press the flashing line key.
To originate a call:
Press a free line key, digit key or Redial.
To mute the headset microphone (Mitel Headset with Feature Control Switch only):
Press and hold the headset's feature control switch.
To hang up:
Press Cancel,
Hang-Up or
.
To disable Headset Operation:
Press the Headset
key.
OR
Dial the Multiline Set Headset Off feature access code.
To switch between headset and handset operation while in a call (available on sets equipped with a Handset Mute key):
Press the Handset Mute key. You can talk using the headset when the Handset Mute key is lit and with the handset when the key is not lit.
To turn a headset call into a handsfree call:
Press the Headset feature key. The Microphone lamp lights steadily indicating that the handsfree microphone is active.
Communicate using the handsfree speaker and microphone.
NOTES
Pressing the Microphone key mutes the microphone resulting in one-way audio. To re-establish two-way audio, press the key again.
If using a wireless Bluetooth or DECT headset with a 53xx series IP Phone, the hook switch built into the headset allows you to switch between the handset, speaker, and headset. There is no need to program a Headset feature key to do the switching unless you are using Auto Answer.
Headset operation is enabled when you plug the headset into the headset/handset jack.
To answer a call:
Press the flashing line key.
To hang up:
Press Release.
To originate a call:
Press a free line key, digit key or Redial.
To turn a headset call into a handsfree call:
Press the Speaker key. The Speaker lamp lights steadily indicating that the handsfree speaker is active. The Microphone lamp indicates the on/off state of the microphone.
Communicate using the handsfree speaker and microphone.
NOTE: Pressing the Microphone key does not affect the headset operation.
To answer call when a headset is connected:
Press any key (other than
,
, or a softkey)
To originate a call:
Press a free line key, digit key or Redial.
To end a call:
Press Power Off/End Call.
To answer a call using a headset:
Press the
(Speaker/Headset) key or the answer button on your headset (if available).
To originate a call using a headset:
Pressing the
(Speaker/Headset) key or Prime Line key.
Enter the number.
To mute the headset microphone:
Press the
(Mute) key.
To hang up:
Press the End
Call softkey, or press
